Our client needed an impactful way to explain the MOA and versatility of their Bispecific T Cell Engager (BiTE) immuno-oncology platform. They asked for a solution that is engaging, interactive, and can be used both online and on congress booth screens. While it was assumed that 3D interactivity was off the table, due to the limitations of 3D on the Web, the AXS team had other ideas.

A First for Pharma: True 3D Interactivity on the Web

We had been innovating with web-based interactive 3D and were ready with a technology solution. We created a user-centered learning experience with real-time interactive 3D models. Users are challenged to build the correct BiTE for molecular targets in each of four tumor types. When they get it right, a 3D simulation runs with BiTE molecules enabling host T cells to bind and kill the cancer cells.

Meeting our client’s objectives of maximum clarity and flawless performance, we created a distinct visual treatment and engaging experience that runs smoothly on mobile & desktop browsers. Anatomically accurate models were optimized for real-time rendering and a bold color palette invites participants to explore and easily discern different cells and molecules.

Measurable Impact

With its flexible design, the BiTE Explorer succeeded in educating and delighting visitors at virtual and in-person congress booths with a unique and memorable 3D experience. We used Google Analytics to track and report usage metrics to our client. In its first virtual congress deployment, over 300 visitors used the experience for an average of 9 minutes each, meeting and exceeding what we typically see at in-person exhibits.

Ready for the Future

To future proof the application, we used a modular design. This enables us to introduce new target tumor environments and corresponding drug molecules, as our client’s development pipeline evolves. As a visual educational experience for HCPs, the BiTE Explorer is unmatched.
