Photograph of outside spread of Immune Thrombocytic Purpura or ITP brochure. Understanding the role of TPO or thrombopoietin in normal platelet formation. TPO binds TPO receptor on the megakaryocyte progenitor to induce proliferation and maturation into platelet producing megakaryocyte. Macrophages clear aged or damaged platelets. JAK-STAT pathway leads to platelet production. In ITP pathogenesis, immune system dysregulation via either autoantibody mediated pathway or cytotoxic t-cell mediate pathway, results in inbited platelet production and accelerated platelet destruction by macrophages. © 2018 Amgen Inc. The project
The purpose of this award-winning poster-brochure is to raise awareness about immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) disease among hematologists and oncologists. We distilled key information from over 100 educational slides to craft the concise copy. The cell morphology in the medical illustration is based on light microscopy. Thrombopoieten (TPO) and its receptor were modeled using protein structural data.
